The study guide for With or Without God: Why the Way We Live Is More Important than What We Believe provides a means to:

  • review the content of the book in either a general or detailed manner
  • reflect on the meaning of the passages
  • respond personally to the passages
  • consider implications for progressive change in one’s own church
  • consider implications for progressive change in the wider church
  • encourage critical thinking, creative imagination, patience, and courage to advocate for life-enhancing change
While the guide contains numerous opportunities to agree or disagree, it is primarily book-friendly, i.e., it is not a guide for objecting to the book’s basic premises or its call for progressive change. It points participants towards possibilities for church and the wider community – possibilities for uniting with all life beyond the beliefs that divide.
